Krasnogorsk.

Krasnogorsk is a city in Moscow region located on Moscow River; it borders on the capital in the northwest.

The city was founded in 1932, by transformation of Ban’ki village to the worker’s settlement, which got the status of city in 1940.

The largest enterprise of the city is the Krasnogorsk plant named after S. Zverev. Besides, the food industry and production of construction materials are developed in the city.

The Krasnogorsk can make boast of a large number of estates. One of the main sights of the city is Znamenskoye-Gubaylovo ancient estate. It was built in the 17th century. Znamenskaya church was erected in 1683, in the late of 90s of the 20th century it was reconstructed. The one-storeyed mistress’s house was built in the spirit of classicism in the 80s of the 18th century. It was reconstructed at the beginning of the 20th century. The manor is surrounded by the garden with picturesque ponds; also some Veymutov's pines grow here.

One more architectural monument of Krasnogorsk is Nikolsky church. The stone-built church was constructed on a place of the wooden predecessor in 1821. The church is a bright representative of empire style. The temple was closed in the 30s of the 20th century; it was returned to believers again in 2002.

There is a Memorial museum of German anti-fascists in Krasnogorsk, which has no analogs in the Russian Federation. The museum was opened in1985. There has been a camp for prisoners of war in Krasnogorsk from 1942 to 1950 where anti-fascist movement actively developed. The building of this museum was constructed in the 30s of the 20th century. Excursions "Fight for Moscow" and "Battle of Stalingrad" are being arranged here. There are collections of German signs and awards, the Soviet and German uniform, a cold weapon and others.

Except estates, some constructions of pre-revolutionary period have been remained in Krasnogorsk. Generally the city architecture is presented by buildings of the Soviet period. But also new houses are being constructed now.

The official City Day is celebrated at the beginning of September.
